Discover the New Lotus Emira Lineup: Turbo SE and V6 Models Unveiled

Lotus, renowned for its dedication to performance and driving exhilaration, has announced a significant revamp to its Emira lineup, introducing the thrilling Emira Turbo SE alongside the established Emira V6. Building upon the acclaimed First Editions, these New Lotus Cars are set to redefine the sports car landscape, offering enhanced power, sophisticated design, and the iconic Lotus driving experience that enthusiasts around the globe have come to cherish. The Emira Turbo SE, in particular, marks a new chapter in the Emira story, promising to be the quickest Emira to date.

Emira Turbo SE: Reigniting a Legacy of Performance

The name “Emira Turbo SE” is more than just a label; it’s a deliberate nod to Lotus’s illustrious past. The “Turbo” designation pays homage to the pioneering Turbo Esprit of 1980, one of the first production sports cars to embrace turbocharging technology. Furthermore, “SE” echoes the ‘Special Equipment’ nomenclature first seen on the Type 14 Elite and later applied to models like the Elan and Esprit, signifying enhanced features and performance. The new lotus car, Emira Turbo SE, proudly carries this legacy, embodying increased power and a richer equipment list.

Under the hood, the Emira Turbo SE boasts a potent 4-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged engine sourced from AMG, coupled with an 8-speed DCT gearbox. This advanced powertrain now delivers an impressive 400 bhp, a 40 bhp increase from its predecessor, and a torque of 480 Nm, up by 50 Nm. These enhancements translate to exhilarating performance figures: a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph), a significant increase of 18 km/h (11 mph), and a blistering 0-100km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of just 4.0 seconds. The Emira Turbo SE truly elevates Lotus’s ‘For The Drivers’ philosophy to new heights.

Staying true to its ‘Special Equipment’ designation, the Emira Turbo SE comes standard with the Lotus Drivers Pack. This includes sport suspension settings, upgraded cross-drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs, and launch control, all designed to maximize driving dynamics. Visually, this new lotus car distinguishes itself with newly designed 20” V-spoke forged Satin Grey wheels, Zinc Grey paint, an Alcantara headliner, striking red brake calipers, unique ‘Emira Turbo SE’ badging, and contemporary black Lotus branding and tailpipes.

Emira V6: The Supercharged Choice Remains

For those who prefer a supercharged thrill, the Lotus Emira V6 remains a cornerstone of the lineup. Powered by a 400bhp charge-cooled and supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine, the Emira V6 offers a distinct driving character. Customers can choose between a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission to pair with this robust engine. The Emira V6 is equipped with performance-focused features including cross-drilled and ventilated two-piece brake discs, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport tires, the Touring suspension for optimized ride and handling, and a limited-slip differential (LSD) for manual models, ensuring engaging cornering capabilities. Design elements for the Emira V6 include a black technical fabric headlining, A-Pillars, and Cantrail, along with unique model branding. This new lotus car option caters to drivers seeking the raw power and distinctive sound of a supercharged V6.

Made in Hethel, UK: A Legacy of Craftsmanship

The entire Lotus Emira range, including these exciting new lotus cars, is proudly produced at Lotus’s historic Hethel factory in the UK. This state-of-the-art facility, the result of over £100 million investment, continues a legacy dating back to 1966. Recently, the 10,000th Emira rolled off the production line, marking the fastest build rate in Lotus history and surpassing the total production volume of the iconic Esprit. With a current capacity of approximately 5,000 cars per year, a significant increase from 1,500 a decade ago, Hethel embodies a blend of tradition and cutting-edge manufacturing.

Matt Windle, Group VP & Managing Director Lotus Cars, aptly describes the Emira: “The Lotus Emira is the most accomplished Lotus road car ever to roll through the Hethel factory gates. Beautifully proportioned with a stunning design inspired by the Evija all-electric hypercar, it’s the perfect package. The Emira is a junior supercar with all the thrills and head-turning characteristics found in the greatest Lotus cars, but at the same time is an everyday sports car that’s high on comfort and functionality, packed with the latest technology demanded by the discerning driver.”

The arrival of the Emira Turbo SE and the continued presence of the Emira V6 reaffirm Lotus’s commitment to delivering exceptional sports cars. These new lotus cars offer drivers a compelling blend of performance, heritage, and modern technology, solidifying the Emira’s position as a leader in its class.
