Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Dealership: Celebrating a Year of Automotive Excellence and Community Spirit

Mercedes-Benz, the pioneering inventor of the automobile, is marking a significant milestone – the one-year anniversary of its flagship Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership. For twelve months, this expansive 330,000 square foot facility on 11th Avenue has been delivering an unparalleled Mercedes-Benz experience to New York City customers. The anniversary, officially recognized as Mercedes-Benz Day in New York City by Mayor Bloomberg last year on June 21st, also aligns with a Mercedes-Benz USA initiative to support the city’s youth. Through its partnership with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA, Mercedes-Benz is placing 120 coaches in after-school sports programs, reinforcing its commitment beyond automotive excellence to the heart of Manhattan.

Mercedes-Benz’s connection with New York City is deeply rooted. Decades before this flagship Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership opened in the West Side’s automotive hub, Mercedes-Benz made its mark on the city. Nearly sixty years prior to this anniversary, the iconic 1954 300SL made its grand debut at the New York International Motor Sports Show, signaling the brand’s long-standing relationship with the city. Today, the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership proudly showcases the latest in automotive innovation, including the recently launched all-new 2013 SL550. This sixth-generation roadster, an icon first introduced in New York City almost six decades ago, represents the ongoing legacy of Mercedes-Benz in Manhattan. To celebrate this anniversary, Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership launched its Diamond Anniversary sales event, commencing on June 17th and extending through June 30th, offering exceptional opportunities for customers.

The design and infrastructure of the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership are meticulously crafted to provide an unparalleled customer experience. Spanning five levels, the dealership dedicates two full levels to showcasing new and certified pre-owned Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Beyond sales, the dealership offers a range of amenities designed for customer convenience and comfort, including a Mercedes-Benz boutique gift shop and luxurious lounge areas. Accessibility is also a key feature, with dedicated vehicle entrances on both 53rd and 54th streets, catering to east and west traffic flow. Inside, a unique double-helix two-way drive leads directly to the state-of-the-art service department, complete with valet service and over 70 service bays, ensuring efficient and comprehensive vehicle maintenance.

“At Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership, our core mission is to create an environment that not only fulfills our customers’ automotive needs – which is paramount – but also clearly communicates the immense value we place on their business and their time,” stated Blair Creed, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Manhattan. “As we celebrate our first year, we wanted to commemorate this milestone by contributing something meaningful to the community where we live and operate.”

Over the past year, Mercedes-Benz Manhattan dealership has actively engaged with and supported numerous local New York City organizations. This commitment to the community includes hosting a successful Toys for Tots event, bringing joy to hundreds of children with donated gifts during the holiday season. Furthermore, during Memorial Day Weekend, Mercedes-Benz Manhattan demonstrated its patriotic spirit by raising $25,000 to support the Tri-State Chapter of Operation Homefront, aiding military families in the region.

The anniversary on June 21st was also the launch date for a significant initiative by Mercedes-Benz USA and local New York Tri-State dealers: a program dedicated to supporting New York City youth through the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA. Mercedes-Benz USA and its dealer network have pledged $1.3 million to the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA to fund a national program. This initiative aims to train and place 250 coaches in youth development projects centered around sports in underserved communities across five U.S. cities, partnering with Coach Across America as Laureus’ implementation partner. Significantly, 120 of these 250 coaches will be dedicated to programs within New York City, underscoring the commitment to the local community.

The first two New York City programs to benefit from the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation support are Beat the Streets, a wrestling program based in downtown Manhattan, and Play Rugby, operating in Brooklyn and the Bronx. Beyond financial contributions, Mercedes-Benz USA employees and dealers will personally volunteer their time to engage with the children in these programs through sports activities, fostering mentorship and community engagement.
