(Hethel, UK – September 20, 2021) – Lotus has officially announced the price and complete specifications for the highly anticipated Emira V6 First Edition. For UK customers, the Lotus Price for this fully-loaded model is set at £75,995, encompassing a wealth of desirable technology, infotainment, comfort features, and exclusive First Edition badging.
Pricing for key European markets has also been revealed, with the Emira V6 First Edition priced at €95,995 in Germany. Lotus has indicated that prices for other international markets, including the USA and China, will be disclosed in the coming weeks. Production of the Emira V6 First Edition is slated to begin in the spring, followed by the four-cylinder First Edition in autumn.
Matt Windle, Managing Director of Lotus Cars, stated, “The Emira represents the most accomplished Lotus vehicle ever produced. To acknowledge and reward our enthusiastic early customers, we have curated the First Edition models to be exceptionally special. Our design team has meticulously selected features to ensure a truly unique and distinguished ownership experience.”
The Emira is positioned as a brand-new mid-engine premium sports car, embodying Lotus’ ongoing evolution. It retains the core characteristics synonymous with Lotus – striking aesthetics, exhilarating performance with class-leading ride and handling, advanced aerodynamics, and a driver-centric experience.
Building upon the heritage of the Elise, Exige, and Evora, the Emira marks a significant leap forward for Lotus. It merges recognizable brand DNA with enhanced practicality, comfort, functionality, and technology. The Emira is built upon a new lightweight bonded aluminum chassis, a technology pioneered by Lotus and a fundamental aspect of the brand’s sports car identity.
The Emira V6 First Edition is powered by the acclaimed, Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine, positioned mid-ship. This engine delivers 400hp and is paired with a standard six-speed manual gearbox featuring a visible gearchange mechanism and hydraulic power-assisted steering, ensuring a pure driving experience that enthusiasts will appreciate at its lotus price point.
The car is equipped with 20-inch ultra-lightweight V-spoke forged alloy wheels, featuring a diamond-cut two-tone finish for a premium aesthetic. Silver or gloss black wheel versions are available as a no-cost option, allowing for personalization even within the First Edition lotus price. Two-piece brake discs with branded calipers and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are also included in the First Edition specification, enhancing both performance and safety.
The First Edition is initially offered in a choice of six vibrant exterior paint colors: Seneca Blue (the launch color), Magma Red, Hethel Yellow, Dark Verdant, Shadow Grey, and Nimbus Grey. Lotus plans to expand the color palette further in 2022, giving future buyers even more choice regarding their lotus price consideration and aesthetic preference.
Exterior highlights include full LED lighting, a titanium exhaust finisher, heated power-fold door mirrors, and rear parking sensors. The Lower Black Pack is standard, presenting the front bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser in a gloss black finish, adding to the sporty and aggressive stance of the vehicle for its lotus price.
Inside, buyers can select from seven interior color schemes at no extra cost. These include red, black, grey, and tan Nappa leather, along with black Alcantara with red, yellow, or grey stitching. Satin chrome trim finishers, white interior mood lighting, and Lotus-branded sill kick plates further enhance the premium cabin ambiance, justifying the lotus price for a luxury experience.
The heated seats offer 12-way adjustability and two memory presets linked to the driver’s side door mirror. Automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless start, and selectable drive modes are also standard, emphasizing comfort and convenience alongside performance, all factored into the lotus price.
For infotainment and connectivity, the Emira V6 First Edition integrates Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite navigation (in select markets), along with Bluetooth and USB/12v sockets. A high-quality 10-channel/340W premium audio system, developed with British audio experts KEF, includes DAB digital radio. All functions are accessible via a 10.25-inch central touch-screen, complemented by a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster ahead of the multi-function steering wheel, providing a modern and user-friendly interface expected at this lotus price level.
Three additional option packs are included as standard, totaling four. The Drivers Pack allows customization of the car’s handling with Tour or Sport suspension paired with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires, or Sport suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The Design Pack adds privacy glass, sports pedals, a black Alcantara headliner, and a choice of black, red, yellow, or silver painted brake calipers, along with Lotus-branded footwell mats. The Convenience Pack enhances everyday usability with front parking sensors, a rear reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, and a rear luggage storage net, all adding value to the overall lotus price proposition.
Optional upgrades available at an additional cost include a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift (£1,800 / €2,600 in Germany) and the Black Pack, which blacks out the roof, cantrails, mirror backs, rear Lotus badge, and exhaust finisher (£1,200 / €1,370 in Germany), allowing buyers to further tailor their Emira to their preferences and budget beyond the base lotus price.
Production of the Lotus Emira V6 First Edition will commence in the spring, with the four-cylinder First Edition following in autumn. An entry-level Emira, with a starting lotus price of £59,995, is planned for release in 2023, broadening the accessibility of the Emira range.
