Mercedes-Benz of Stockton has officially opened its doors at a stunning new location, marking a significant upgrade for customers and the dealership itself. Formerly known as Berberian European Motors and situated on West Lane, the dealership has relocated to a state-of-the-art facility at 10777 Trinity Parkway, off Eight Mile Road. This move represents a substantial leap forward, offering an enhanced experience for both Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and the dealership team.
For Brian Martucci, the General Manager at Berberian Mercedes of Stockton, the transition is transformative. He describes the new premises as a “night and day” improvement compared to the previous location. The new showroom is an expansive, light-filled space, boasting soaring ceilings close to 30 feet high. The design philosophy draws inspiration from Apple stores, featuring clean lines, blond wood flooring, pristine white walls, and subtle metallic accents. This minimalist yet sophisticated aesthetic is intentionally designed to put the spotlight firmly on the vehicles themselves.
“The vehicles are the color. The vehicles are the show,” Martucci emphasizes. “So the furniture and the people are here to support the vehicle and the client experience.” The spaciousness is further amplified by the extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glass interior walls. Customers can easily observe the sales managers and finance teams at work, fostering a sense of transparency and openness. Martucci’s office, located on the second floor and overlooking the showroom, reinforces this open concept. “So whatever we do is wide open,” Martucci explains, highlighting the dealership’s commitment to an inclusive and engaging customer environment.
This significant investment in a new facility aligns with a broader trend in the Stockton automotive market. Steve Kubitz, General Manager at Big Valley Ford, notes that several dealerships in the area have recently renovated or expanded their locations, reflecting the recovery and growth in car sales. Big Valley Ford itself underwent renovations a few years ago, upgrading its exterior and expanding its service department. Kubitz believes these modern, attractive dealerships are a positive development for the area, ultimately benefiting customers.
Berberian Mercedes of Stockton’s commitment to service is evident in its expanded service department, equipped with bays for 32 vehicles. While the dealership has streamlined its offerings by ceasing Volvo sales, it has broadened its Mercedes-Benz portfolio to include commercial vans. “We now have the ability to handle all lines for Mercedes, including the commercial vans,” Martucci confirms, making Berberian Mercedes a comprehensive destination for all Mercedes-Benz needs.
A unique feature of the new Berberian Mercedes dealership is the dedicated delivery room. Separated from the main showroom, this private space offers a special environment for customers to take possession of their new vehicles. Complete with roll-up doors and space for two vehicles, the delivery room enhances the excitement of vehicle handover. Furthermore, the dealership has incorporated a well-equipped training room, capable of seating 40 people. Berberian Mercedes plans to make this space available for community groups, demonstrating its commitment to local engagement.
Owned by Ron Berberian, who also chairs BAC Community Bank, the realization of this new dealership has been years in the making. Plans were initially conceived long before the Great Recession, with a sign even erected at the new site. However, the economic downturn caused delays in construction. Now, with the dealership operational, Berberian Mercedes is already anticipating future growth. “We’re going to need more parking for inventory,” Martucci states, explaining that Mercedes-Benz has increased the dealership’s vehicle allocation in response to the upgraded facility.
This expansion is expected to support ambitious sales targets, with the dealership aiming to double its previous monthly sales volume of 50 vehicles. Martucci is optimistic about the future, stating, “We’re seeing signs of that already. I really feel good about it.” The new Berberian Mercedes of Stockton dealership signifies not just a change of location, but a commitment to providing an exceptional automotive experience in a modern, customer-centric environment.
