Mercedes Robb Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Ex-Husband in Warren County, Ohio

TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH – Mercedes Robb, a 35-year-old woman, is currently detained in Warren County Jail following a deadly shooting incident. According to Warren County Sheriff’s Lieutenant John Faine, Mercedes Robb allegedly shot and killed her ex-husband, Jason Robb, also 35, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The tragic event unfolded in the yard of a residence located at 3112 Oregonia Road. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered Jason Robb deceased. Mercedes Robb herself was the one who contacted 911 to report the shooting. She was taken into custody and initially charged with preliminary murder.

Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell announced via Facebook that a not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Mercedes Robb for the preliminary murder charge during her court appearance on Thursday. The court has set a bond of $500,000 for Mercedes Robb, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 10th. This hearing will determine whether the case will proceed to a grand jury.

Lieutenant Faine stated that Jason Robb was at the Oregonia Road address to pick up their two children – a routine exchange that typically occurred before school hours. During the 911 call, Mercedes Robb reportedly admitted to shooting her ex-husband, indicated he was not breathing, stated she would not perform CPR, and affirmed her willingness to cooperate with deputies upon their arrival. The couple’s children were inside the house at the time of the shooting and did not witness the incident.

Investigators noted that Mercedes Robb did not have any injuries that would suggest self-defense. Furthermore, Jason Robb was unarmed, and his vehicle was still running in the driveway when deputies arrived, according to Faine.

Public records indicate that the property on Oregonia Road is owned by Mercedes Robb, who was booked into Warren County Jail shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Court records from Warren County reveal that the Robbs divorced in 2013. However, they were currently engaged in a custody dispute, with a hearing scheduled for November 29th.

Dispatchers received a request for deputies and medics at the residence around 6:30 a.m. in response to a reported shooting. CareFlight, an air ambulance service, was initially placed on standby but was later canceled as the situation was assessed. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this incident.

This tragic event marks the third fatal domestic violence incident in Warren County since July. In September, a similar case occurred where David Garrett, 39, fatally shot his ex-wife, Traci Fletcher-Garrett, 41, before taking his own life. This incident happened in Hamilton Township. In July, Eric Walker shot and killed his wife, Lauren Walker, and himself in Clearcreek Township. These victims were recently highlighted in a Warren County domestic violence awareness exhibit, underscoring the ongoing issue within the community.
