Join us for the 28th annual Lake Tahoe Summit on Wednesday, August 14 at the beautiful Round Hill Pines Beach Resort in Zephyr Cove, NV. This year’s summit, themed “Connecting Tahoe: Investing in Transit, Trails, and Technology for the Future,” promises to be an insightful event focused on the future of Lake Tahoe and its surrounding areas.
The summit will feature a keynote address from a prominent figure, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, highlighting the importance of infrastructure and connectivity in preserving natural treasures like Lake Tahoe. This year’s focus on transit, trails, and technology underscores a commitment to improving access and sustainability within the Tahoe region, ensuring its beauty and accessibility for generations to come.
The day begins with check-in and a booth fair at 9am, showcasing various Lake Tahoe environmental organizations and their crucial work. The main Summit program will commence at 10am. Following the summit, the booth fair will continue, offering attendees the chance to enjoy food available for purchase from Beach Bums Bar & Grill, creating a relaxed and engaging atmosphere for further discussion and networking.

To ensure smooth access for all attendees and minimize environmental impact, on-site parking will not be available. Attendees are strongly encouraged to utilize public transportation options or the complimentary shuttle service provided. For those who prefer active transportation, walking and biking are excellent choices, and the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition will offer a complimentary bike valet service for cyclists. Event Policies
Bag Policy: To maintain event security and efficiency, clear bags smaller than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ are permitted. Non-clear bags under 5″ x 7″ are also allowed.
Firearm Restriction: For the safety of all attendees, firearms are prohibited at this event.
Signage: To ensure optimal visibility of the stage for all participants, signs are not permitted within the event area.
Arrival Methods: To maintain safety and manage event access, arrival by boating, paddling, or any other lake-based vessel is not permitted.
Transportation Information
No On-Site Parking: Please remember that parking directly at Round Hill Pines Resort will not be available. All attendees must utilize public transit, park-and-ride options, designated bike paths, or other alternative transportation methods. Walking or cycling to the event is highly encouraged for those nearby.
Cycling to the Summit:
Safeguard your bicycle with ease during the event. A complimentary bicycle valet service will be provided by the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition, making cycling a convenient and eco-friendly option.
Public Transit from North Lake Tahoe:
Placer County, in partnership with the Crystal Bay Club, is providing a convenient park-and-ride location for attendees coming from North Lake Tahoe. Shuttles will depart from the Crystal Bay Club at designated times:
- TART buses will depart from the Crystal Bay Club at 8am and 8:30am
- Return TART buses will be available at the Summit, departing at 12pm and 12:30pm.
Using TART’s main line service or the TART Connect on-demand service to reach the Crystal Bay Club is recommended. Find TART route information here.
Public Transit from South Lake Tahoe:
The Tahoe Transportation District, in collaboration with Douglas County, is offering a park-and-ride location for attendees from the South Lake Tahoe area. Shuttles will depart from the Kingsbury Transit Center (207 Kingsbury Grade Rd, Stateline, NV 89449). Parking is available in the parking garage and at Kahle Park.
- Shuttle services will commence at 8:30am from the Kingsbury Transit Center to Round Hill Pines.
- Return shuttle trips from Round Hill Pines will begin immediately after the Summit concludes.
Lake Link, Tahoe’s convenient on-demand microtransit service, will extend its operational boundary to include Round Hill Pines for this event. Attendees are encouraged to utilize Lake Link to connect with TTD shuttle routes departing from Lake Tahoe Community College and the Douglas County Parking Garage. Download the Lake Link app here.
Driving and Limited Parking:
Limited paid parking is available at Nevada Beach for $10. Please note this is standard beach parking and is not managed by the Summit event organizers. From Nevada Beach, it is approximately a 1-mile walk along the scenic bike path to reach Round Hill Pines Resort.
