All 2019 Infiniti Q60 models are equipped with an active grille shutter system, intelligently balancing engine cooling demands with the desire to optimize aerodynamics. Under typical driving conditions, the shutter remains closed, opening only when increased performance necessitates greater airflow.
The Q60’s door-mounted side mirrors, designed with a relatively narrow profile, accentuate its low stance and sleek coupe silhouette. The 2019 INFINITI Q60 offered a palette of 10 exterior colors, including Midnight Black, Liquid Platinum, Graphite Shadow, Black Obsidian, Majestic White, Pure White, Iridium Blue, Hagane Blue, Solar Mica, and Dynamic Sunstone Red, the latter being exclusive to the RED SPORT 400 trim.

The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engines, offered in 400-horsepower and 300-horsepower versions, were engineered to maximize power and torque for their displacement, while also achieving improved fuel efficiency. The high-output version in the Q60 RED SPORT 400 produces 400 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 350 lb-ft of peak torque between 1,600 and 5,200 rpm. The version used in the Q60 3.0t PURE and Q60 3.0t LUXE models delivers 300 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 295 lb-ft of torque across the same 1,600-5,200 rpm range.
The 3.0-liter VR V6 engine incorporates several innovative technologies to deliver the Q60’s engaging driving experience. A key feature is the direct-injection gasoline fueling system. This high-pressure system allows for precise fuel injection into the combustion chamber, delivering the exact amount needed for smooth acceleration based on throttle input and engine speed. This system contributes to making the V6 the cleanest and most fuel-efficient engine of its type ever offered by INFINITI.
The VR engine also utilizes lightweight aluminum construction and low-friction components, resulting in smooth, durable, and highly responsive performance. Weight-saving measures include spray bore coating for the engine block and integrated exhaust manifolds within the cylinder heads. These features not only reduce engine weight but also enhance cooling efficiency by facilitating more effective heat dissipation.
The integrated exhaust manifold, built directly into the cylinder head, positions the catalytic converter closer to the exhaust outlet. This shortens the path for hot exhaust gases, enabling the catalytic converter to reach optimal operating temperature rapidly, improving responsiveness, reducing cold-start emissions, and contributing to engine compactness and weight reduction.
The VR-series engine’s power delivery is amplified by an advanced twin-turbo system that ensures smooth and immediate response under acceleration while enhancing efficiency. An optimized turbine blade design helps the engine generate greater overall performance, with faster turbine revolution speeds enabling instant response from the twin-turbo system.
Specifically, the 400-horsepower variant features a turbine speed sensor, allowing the twin-turbo system to operate at speeds up to 220,000 rpm under steady conditions and 240,000 rpm during transient conditions. This increased capacity for faster revolutions enables the higher-powered engine version to deliver increased power and torque. The turbo speed sensor on the 400-horsepower version contributes to a power increase of up to 30 percent. Boost pressure is set at 14.7 psi for the 400-horsepower version, compared to 9.5 psi for the 300-horsepower version. Both engine versions also feature a water-cooled intercooler system to further enhance performance and efficiency. This system rapidly cools the intake air, reducing turbo lag and enabling more immediate acceleration.
All 2019 Q60 powertrains are paired with an advanced seven-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission featuring manual shift mode and standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on RED SPORT 400 models. The transmission incorporates enhanced logic and hardware to effectively manage the power output of the VR-series engines.
Furthermore, the Q60’s Adaptive Shift Control refines gear selection by utilizing a lateral acceleration sensor to detect road changes, such as hills and curves. Sport Mode enables a more aggressive shift pattern with automatic upshifts and downshifts at higher rpm.

Direct Adaptive Steering®, available as part of the ProACTIVE Package on RED SPORT 400 models, can transmit driver input to the wheels faster than a conventional mechanical system while requiring fewer steering corrections. The system intelligently and rapidly communicates feedback about road surface and chassis behavior, providing a secure and confident steering feel and reducing driver fatigue.
The extensive steering customization offered by Direct Adaptive Steering® is accessible through the Drive Mode Selector, a highly personalized handling system offering 336 different calibration possibilities. Through menus in the upper screen of the Q60’s INFINITI InTuition™ system and the meter cluster screen, the Drive Mode Selector allows steering response to be chosen from six available modes: Personal, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport, and Sport+ (for RED SPORT 400 models).
All models also feature standard Rack Electronic Power Steering. This system provides a linear and controlled driving experience that can be tuned through the Drive Mode Selector.
Additionally, a choice of two suspension systems allows drivers to tailor the Q60’s dynamic response to their driving preferences. The standard suspension ensures low road noise and minimal vibration intrusion while providing more direct and linear handling. Suspension link layouts and bushings are specifically tuned for the Q60, and shock absorbers are relocated for optimized sports coupe ride and handling.
Dynamic Digital Suspension, an electronic suspension system standard on RED SPORT 400 grades, is engineered to deliver best-in-class handling and agility, along with enhanced ride comfort, thanks to software and hardware upgrades, including a dedicated set of adaptive dampers. Drivers can shift the suspension focus from comfort to more dynamic responses by selecting Sport or Sport+ modes via the Drive Mode Selector, which firms up damping control for more agile handling. In these modes, the suspension continuously adjusts to provide ideal performance and a composed ride.
The Q60 is available with either rear-wheel drive or INFINITI Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Both are offered across all trim levels. The all-wheel-drive system enhances stability and road holding in low-grip conditions, distributing torque 50:50 between the front and rear wheels in its default setting. When extra traction is not immediately needed, the system reverts to 100 percent rear-wheel drive, redistributing power to all four wheels as conditions change or if it detects a momentary loss of traction.

The Q60 3.0t LUXE adds features such as a power sliding/tilting moonroof, a Bose® Performance Series Audio system with 13 speakers and Bose® Centerpoint® simulated surround, HomeLink® Universal Transceiver, an auto-dimming inside mirror with compass, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Predictive Forward Collision Warning.
The flagship Q60 RED SPORT 400 is fully equipped with staggered 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (20×9.0 front / 20×9.5 rear for rear-wheel drive models) and summer performance tires (255/35R20 front / 275/30R20 rear). The RED SPORT 400 AWD features 20×9.0 wheels at all corners with 255/35R20 all-season performance tires. RED SPORT 400 models also include sport brakes with red-painted brake calipers, exclusive RED SPORT 400 exhaust tips, black outside mirror caps, red “S” exterior badging, and the 400-horsepower engine.
Additional RED SPORT 400 features include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, aluminum-accented sport pedals, sport-type semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, driver’s seat power lumbar and power torso bolsters, sport-tuned Dynamic Digital Suspension, power tilt and telescopic steering column, auto-dimming outside mirrors with reverse link, and a dual-occupant memory system for the driver seat, steering column, and outside mirrors.
Key optional packages for 2019 included the Essential Package, Leather Seating Package, ProASSIST Package, and ProACTIVE Package.
The Essential Package is richly equipped with INFINITI InTouch™ Navigation, INFINITI InTouch™ Services, voice recognition for navigation, SiriusXM® Traffic (subscription required), power tilt and telescopic steering column, dual occupant memory system, driver’s seat power lumbar and side bolsters, auto-dimming outside mirrors with reverse tilt-down, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and remote engine start.
