Natick, Massachusetts, continues to see shifts in its local business landscape with both departures and new arrivals. This week’s business news highlights a significant move by a long-standing automotive dealership and the grand opening of a new recreational cannabis dispensary, alongside updates in the local confectionery scene.
ReLeaf Natick Opens its Doors on Route 9
The cannabis retail scene in Natick has expanded with the opening of ReLeaf Natick, the town’s second recreational cannabis dispensary. Located at 291 Worcester St., in the space formerly occupied by Papa Gino’s, ReLeaf Natick welcomed its first customers, adding to the growing number of cannabis businesses in the area.
Joining The Redi dispensary at Clover Leaf Mall, which has been operating for about a year and a half, ReLeaf Natick positions itself among a cluster of similar businesses along Route 9, both east and west of Natick. Customers visiting ReLeaf can explore a diverse product range including cannabis flowers, pre-rolls, concentrates, edibles, cartridges, CBD products, and even novelty items like dog treats and hand-blown glass accessories. This new Natick location marks an expansion for ReLeaf, building upon its original store in Mansfield.
Vivilicious Chocolates Takes Over Natick Center Spot
In Natick Center, there’s a sweet transition underway. Maine Girl Cupcakes, which established its presence at 13 South Main St. in late 2022, has announced a shift in focus. Vivilicious Chocolates, which has been collaborating with Maine Girl Cupcakes for several months, will now take the primary role at this location.
Kristin Littlefield, the owner of Maine Girl Cupcakes, explained on social media that personal challenges and the demanding nature of running a storefront solo led her to consider closing. However, aiming to maintain the availability of cupcakes in Natick Center, she decided to partner more closely with Vivilicious Chocolates, whose products she has already been featuring in her store. Viviane Gontijo is the owner and operator of Vivilicious Chocolates. The revamped store, with Vivilicious Chocolates at the helm, was anticipated to open on August 1st.
Mercedes-Benz of Natick Moves to Sudbury
A significant change in the automotive sector for Natick is the relocation of the Mercedes-Benz of Natick dealership. Formerly situated on Route 27 in Natick, the Mercedes-Benz of Natick dealership has moved to a new location on Boston Post Road in Sudbury, as of August 4th. This move marks the end of an era for Mercedes-Benz of Natick at its previous site, leaving a notable vacancy in the Natick automotive business landscape.
While the reasons behind the move of Mercedes-Benz of Natick are not publicly stated, and inquiries to the dealership for comment are pending, this relocation represents a significant shift for car buyers in the Natick area who previously relied on the local Mercedes-Benz of Natick dealership for sales and service. Customers seeking Mercedes-Benz of Natick will now need to visit the Sudbury location on Boston Post Road. It remains to be seen what business, if any, will occupy the now-vacant space on Route 27 in Natick formerly home to Mercedes-Benz of Natick.
